Welsh Parliament

Two week ago, my classmates and me visited the Senedd in Cardiff bay. Senedd is the building of Walsh assembly. Also, all the members of parliament in Wales meet there. This essay will give the details of the visit.

At the begging of the visit, we had to go through the inspection area to make sue that no body have any prohibited equipment. After that, we met the tutor who take us around the place and explain about the assembly. The architect of the building was wide and beautiful. The tutor said that the building is environmentally friendly. Further more, the sores of het is taken from the het of the ground. As well, there is a big tank that stores the rains water and takes an advantage of it to clean the building.

After a wailed, we went to the assembly-meeting hall. More over, this hall all the members of the Welsh parliament met to argue and discuss about the rules that make their country better. There were many tables, chairs and computers in the hall. Also, people are allowed to come and look at the meetings but without interrupting.

Finally, I think that it is important for Welsh people to vote and have the rights to participate in some decisions. In that case, most of the population in the UK might be satisfied in the future.

Teamwork

Teamwork can be defined as the process of working with a group of people in order to achieve a goal. Team work can be a great and beneficial experience on our working atmosphere in addition to our professional and personal life.

Teamwork is everywhere, we can find it in families, companies, schools also on the community. As well, it is necessary for colleagues to work well together, giving their best in every circumstance because having any mistake is going to affect the group effort. Teamwork is usually takes important place on a business, the main purpose of working in teams is to gather more than one person energy, skills and thoughts in order to reach the greatest level of achievement.

Finally, teamwork makes goals easier and faster to accomplish but only if the colleagues knew how to work together perfectly. They have to find a solution how to bring different ideas together to make the work done or to reach their goal.

The Welsh Assembly

  • Who designed the building?

It was designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership and built by Taylor Woodrow, with environmental and MEP design by BDSP Partnership.

  • When was it opened and by whom?

It was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on St. David's
Day, 1 March 2006.

  • What materials were used?

It uses traditional Welsh materials such as slate and Welsh Oak in its construction and the wood is made from Canadian sourced Western Red Cedar.

  • What is particulary special about the building?

The Senedd is designed to be environmentally friendly: it uses an Earth Heat Exchange system for heating; rainwater is collected from the roof and used for flushing toilets and cleaning windows, and the roof features a wind cowl which funnels natural light and air into the debating chamber below.
